Hundreds of Illegal Immigrants Arrested

Federal officials say that recent arrests of illegal immigrants across the country are nothing more than routine efforts to enforce the law.

FOX’s Jeff Monosso has the story:

U.S. Immigration and Customs Agents arrested hundreds of illegal immigrants from North Carolina to L.A. with opponents saying that the arrests are causing mass panic in immigrant communities:

(Gutiérrez) “Many of them, a significant number of them, Mexican nationals.”

Carlos Gutiérrez with the Mexican consulate in Austin, Texas, where demonstrators protesting deportations also turned violent over the weekend:

(Gutiérrez) “I got kicked in the face, almost lost consciousness.”

Immigration officials describe the targeting of illegal immigrants, many of whom have criminal records, as no different than the arrests and deportations carried out under the Obama administration.
