New Education Sec. DeVos Promises to Be a Leader & Challenge the Status Quo

New Education Secretary Betsy DeVos vowed to earn trust in her first address to her new department following her confirmation in a divided Senate.

FOX’s Gurnal Scott with the story:

A day after her razor-thin confirmation, Betsy DeVos lightheartedly looked back on it:

(DeVos) ”This confirmation process and the drama it engendered has been a bit of a bear.”

A reference to her grizzly bear comment after a Senator’s question about guns in schools, but she promised to be a leader that challenges the status quo:

(DeVos) ”On how and why we’ve done things a certain way, but I will listen to each of you on your ideas for how we can do better for students.”

She says melding different methods within the D.O.E. will help make it better.
