Super Bowl 51 TV Ratings

Sunday night’s Super Bowl set records on the field, but not off it.

FOX’s Chris Hoenig reports:

Sunday’s Super Bowl TV ratings are high, but not as high as last three Super Bowls. 111.3 million viewers, more than a half-million fewer than last year and more than three million below the bar set in 2015, which is the record-holder as the most-watched Super Bowl ever.

All that said, this still ties as the fourth most-viewers of any “Big Game”. The Super Bowl is usually the top televised event of the year.

The overtime meanwhile, helping FOX add an additional $20-million to its coffers thanks to four extra commercials. Bringing the total, according to research firm ISpot.TV, to $509.6 million in ad revenue.
