Newly minted Secretary of State Rex Tillerson went to the State Department this morning.
FOX's Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:
A day after being sworn in as the nation's top diplomat, Tillerson introduced himself to employees at the State Department:
(Tillerson) "Hi, I'm the new guy."
The former oil executive takes the reigns as a cable dissenting President Trump's travel ban gathers employee signatures. Tillerson called on workers to be understanding of each other:
(Tillerson) "Each of us is entitled to the expression of our political beliefs. But we cannot let our personal convictions overwhelm our ability to work as one team."
The cable has gathered at least 1,000 signatures.
