Flu Epidemic Continues to Grow – CDC

    The number of flu cases so far this year eclipsing 2016 numbers.

    FOX’s Lilian Woo reports: 

    The Centers for Disease Control says 25,000 cases of flu have already been reported in 37 states and we’re not even at peak season yet.

    Influenza especially dangerous to the very young and very old and so far this season its caused 19 deaths, including three children in mid January.

    10 states from Alabama and Georgia in the south to Kansas and Oklahoma in the midwest to New Jersey and New York in the east, all reporting high level flu activity. Hospitals in Washington State report they’re running short on beds.

    The height of flu season now till March and doctors are advising a shot as soon as possible. It protects against 95 percent of flu strains this season.
