President Trump Asks FBI Director to Remain at Post
The director of the FBI will serve out the remainder of his term despite a rocky relationship with president Trump.
FOX’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:
FOX News has confirmed that President Trump has asked FBI Director James Comey to remain for now.
The decision to keep Comey could help calm the bureau’s work force, which has been shaken by criticism that the FBI acted improperly in its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, while serving as Secretary of State.
Comey is at the center of the FBI’s investigation into several aides to President Trump, including his National Security Advisor and their potential ties with the Russian government.
