Obama’s Parting Gift: $221 Million Sent to Palestinians
Defying Congress, the Obama Administration made a last minute payment to the Palestinian Authority.
FOX’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:
State Department officials confirm that the Obama Administration in its waning hours, defied Republican opposition and quietly released $221 million to the Palestinian Authority that Republican members of Congress had been blocking.
Lawmakers were notified in a letter, dated January 20th, that then Secretary of State John Kerry sent to them just hours before the Inauguration of President Trump.
The money is supposed to be used for humanitarian aid in the West Bank and Gaza and to support political and security reforms, but the Palestinian Authority has often diverted U.S. aid for other purposes.
