Come on Baby Light My Fire!… The Doors Celebrate 50 in Style

Rock band ‘The Doors’ are celebrating their 50th anniversary.

FOX’s Laura Ingle details what they have planned in today’s “Bonus Track”:

(The Doors) “Break on through to the other side!”

Fans of The Doors have a great way to celebrate the band in the new year, as Rhino Records releases a three-disc deluxe edition of The Doors self-titled debut album, which came out 50 years ago this week.

The release comes out March 31, which will include remastered Stereo and Mono mixes of the original album, plus a disc of live recordings from a concert at San Francisco’s Matrix on March 7, 1967. This package will include the tunes “Twentieth Century Fox”, “Back Door Man” and of course:

(The Doors) “Come on baby light my fire!”

On this 50th anniversary of The Doors debut, some ‘Bonus Tracks’: The Doors were the first band to ever advertise a new album on a billboard, the band was not invited to play Woodstock and Jim Morrison’s famous leather pants were something to behold, but missing one thing… a fly!

(The Doors) “Try to set the night on fire!”
