NFL history will be made when the playoffs kick-off on Saturday.

FOX's Chris Hoenig reports:

Connor Cook will be the first rookie quarterback ever to make his first start in a playoff game when he gets under center for the Raiders at the Texans, in the first game of Wild Card weekend.

The fourth-round pick in this year's draft out of Michigan State didn't even dress for a game until last week, but was forced into action after starting quarterback Derek Carr and backup Matt McGloin were both injured:

(Cook) "Watching Derek play, watching Matt play, you know they do a lot of things that I need to get better at. So watching them, if they ever needed me, I think that I would be able to go in and contribute."

He'll go up against high priced starter-turned-backup-turned starter Brock Osweiler, who will be back under center with Tom Savage still in the NFL's concussion protocol.
