Paul Ryan is Re-Elected as House Speaker
No surprise, Paul Ryan will serve as Speaker of the House in the new Congress.
FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:
There was near unanimous Republican support for Speaker Ryan, just one fellow Republican voted for someone other than the Wisconsin Congressman. Ryan was elected on the House floor with 239 votes.
Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi won most of her party’s support.
Ryan will now lead a Republican majority that after the Inauguration, will also have a Republican in the White House, promising swift action on a health care law repeal and tax reform.
