President-elect Trump’s Nukes Tweet Clarified

    President-elect Trump is calling for a stronger U.S. nuclear capability.

    FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Washington:

    Using Twitter, the President-elect said the U.S. must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until the world comes to its senses regarding nukes.

    A transition team spokesman says that tweet was referring to the threat of nuclear proliferation and the critical need to prevent it, particularly to terror organizations and unstable, rogue regimes.

    The President-elect’s tweet was posted a day after he met with senior military officers about budgets and defense programs.

    Hours before the tweet, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke of the need to enhance nuclear forces.
