Winter Has Officially Arrived!
Old man winter has arrived.
FOX’s Jack Callaghan with details of today’s Winter Solstice:
Parts of the country have had plenty of winter already, but the season officially started at 5:44 Eastern time this morning, when the Earth reached its greatest tilt on its axis, putting the Northern hemisphere at its furthest point away from the sun.
That also means today is day with the least amount of daylight, through the country’s mid-section, only about nine hours of daylight and almost 15 hours of darkness.
But the good news is, a few days from now the days will start getting longer, daylight-wise, as we begin the three month climb back to Spring.
