President-elect Trump Secures Electoral College Victory
President-elect Trump has secured enough votes to win the Electoral College.
FOX’s Jessica Rosenthal reports:
Texas put the Republican President-elect over the top. Despite two electors who did cast protest votes against Mr. Trump.
Throughout the day though the defections came mostly against Hillary Clinton, though they did so in an effort to stop Trump. A group called the Hamilton electors is trying to block Mr. Trump by putting an alternate Republican candidate out there to vote for.
Four of Washington state’s 12 electors did not for the statewide winner who was Clinton. Three voted for Colin Powell. And one voted for a native American tribal elder. An elector in Minnesota also refused to cast his vote for Clinton. As did one in Maine, who wrote that he cast his vote for Bernie Sanders since his vote for Clinton wouldn’t help her.
