Elvis to be Inducted into Mississippi Hall of Fame

Mississippi is calling Elvis back home.

Soon people might be saying they spotted Elvis in Mississippi. The state’s Department of Archives and History choosing Presley as one of five people being named to the Mississippi Hall of Fame.

Presley born in Tupelo, qualifying him for his Mississippi roots. The Hall of Fame can only choose five inductees every five years.

The other honorees: Evelyn Gandy, the first woman elected lieutenant governor of the state, transplant surgeon Dr. James Hardy, former state Representative Aaron Henry, a civil-rights activist and Ida B. Wells, a journalist and women’s rights advocate.
