Bob Dylan Won’t Attend White House Ceremony for Nobel Prize Achievement

Bob Dylan’s says thanks, but no thanks to a White House meeting.

Bob Dylan is skipping both the Nobel Prize ceremony and the White House meeting celebrating the winners.

Dylan was schedlued to meet President Barack Obama alongside several of the American winners of the Nobel Prize before they officially accept their award in Stockholm, Sweden, however White House spokesperson Josh Earnest says “unfortunately, Dylan will not be at the White House.” Saying he didn’t give a reason, but notes that Dylan and the President had met previously and “the President enjoyed meeting him” in 2012.

President Obama presented the singer with a Presidential Medal of Freedom. Dylan was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in October.
