Actress Jennifer Siebel Newsom’s “Representation Project” Aims at Ending Gender Stereotypes

Actress and documentary filmmaker Jennifer Siebel Newsom is a mother of four and the wife of California’s Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newson. Her award-winning film “Miss Representation” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.  Acquired by Oprah Winfrey to air on Winfrey’s OWN Network, the documentary examines the perception of women in positions of power. Newsom’s second film “The Mask You Live In” looks at the role of men and boys in our society.

FOX’s Jane Metzler talks with the Stanford University honors grad and MBA who has appeared on stage and in numerous films and TV shows, including “Mad Men,” “Numb3rs” and “Strong Medicine,” about her work in front of and behind the camera. Newsom also discusses the organization she co-founded: The Representation Project which aims to put an end to gender stereotypes:
