Retailers Expect Increase in Holiday Shopping

The National Retail Federation estimates that the number of Americans shopping in store and online during Thanksgiving weekend will be up nearly 60 percent from last year.

    FOX’s Victoria Craig reports:

Shoppers have been held back since the great recession, said PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Steve Barr, but this year will be a breakout year, especially online:

(Barr) “We’re starting to see users of mobile devices not only use their smartphones for researching products and looking for deals, but actually completing the transaction.”

PWC estimates not only will there be more shoppers this year, they’ll spend about 10 percent more than they did in 2015.
