Travelers Give Thanks: O’Hare Airport Workers Won’t Strike Until After Thanksgiving

Chicago travelers are giving thanks today. Now that workers at one of the nation’s busiest airports say a strike won’t occur until after the Thanksgiving holiday.

    FOX’s Gurnal Scott reports:

Members of the service employees local union at O’Hare Airport say at the earliest, November 29 is when they may strike. Union spokeswoman Izabela Miltko-Ivkovich says they scuttled talk of walking off the job before the holiday because they want the public on their side:

(Miltko-Ivkovich ) “To gain that support because really what they have to endure is really terrible. A lot of them make poverty-level wages. Some of them don’t even make minimum wage.”

The workers want $15 per hour and union rights. Should the workers strike Chicago aviation officials say they don’t expect major travel disruptions.
