Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s Alarmed By Number of Hate Crimes in U.S.

The Attorney General is responding to an increase number of reported hate crimes.

FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Washington:

In a video message posted online, Attorney General Loretta Lynch described an alarming trend in reported hate crimes in the U.S. last year, targeting religious minorities, African-Americans and the LGBT community:

(Lynch) “Some of these incidents have happened in schools. Others have targeted houses of worship and some have singled out individuals for attacks and intimidation.”

Lynch says the Justice Department is also investigating whether recent reports of vandalism and intimidation may have violated federal laws, urging Americans to report incidents to local police.
