House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi is facing a new challenge to keep that title in the upcoming Congress.

FOX's Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:

Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan has announced a challenge to House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, writing in a letter to colleagues, "what we are doing right now is not working and noting Democrats have the smallest congressional minority since 1929." He's calling for more voices at the Democratic Leadership table.

Earlier this week Pelosi said she will run for another term as leader of House Democrats, a role she's held since 2003, including four years as Speaker of the House.

Pelosi last faced a challenge in 2010, then Congressman Heath Shuler won just 43 votes.
