CMT & Lynyrd Skynyrd Team Up in New Documentary

A new documentary is coming from the band who is responsible for the classic song “Free Bird”.

FOX’s Jacquelyn Karl reports: 

Lynyrd Skynyrd agreeing to a CMT documentary about the early days of the band.

The film “If I Leave Here Tomorrow” focusing on original front-man Ronnie Van Zant and his relationships with the other founding members.

Music from the first six Skynyrd albums being used for the soundtrack. Production has already begun. Brian Philips, the president of cable network CMT and friend to the band since he was a teenager, saying in an interview, the new project will finally get the band’s story right.

CMT running the documentary next year.
