Seahawks Kicker Stephen Hauschka’s Name Has Been Misspelled for Entire Career
Straight out of the ‘oops’ files.
FOX’s Chris Hoenig reports:
With last names on the back of pro sports jerseys, it can be kind of embarrassing when you misspell a name. Then there’s Seattle Seahawks kicker Stephen Hauschka, his name has been misspelled his entire career. But here’s the catch: Not his difficult last name — H-A-U-S-C-H-K-A… But his first name:
(Hauschka) “Well it’s actually a P-H-E-N, Stephen is my real first name, but Seahawks have it as S-T-E-V-E-N.”
And they have it wrong everywhere, haven’t been right yet in his nine-year pro career:
(Hauschka) “There’s a little mix-up in college.”
So has he grown fond the “new” way? Does he prefer the V over the P-H?:
(Hauschka) “Uh, I just like to go by Steve.”
