The nominations for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were announced today.

Late Rapper Tupoc Shakur and Pearl Jam, among the first time nominees, in fact, 9 of the 19 of the acts nominated are on the ballot for the first time.

More than 800 artists, historians and music industry officials vote. Other first-time nominees, Journey, punk pioneers Bad Brains, Depeche Mode, Electric Light Orchestra, Jane's Addiction, Joan Baez and Canadian rockers Steppenwolf.
