Wonder Woman Receives an Honor from the United Nations

DC Comic’s superhero Wonder Woman was bestowed an honor worthy of a superhero.

FOX’s Michelle Pollino reports:

Wonder Woman is the United Nations new honorary ambassador for the Empowerment of Woman and Girls and will formally be designated at a ceremony on October 21.

The U.N. said in a statement, it will also launch a campaign supporting gender equality and women’s empowerment.

DC Entertainment president Diane Nelson will accept the designation on behalf of the comic book, TV and film character. The event is sponsored by Warner Bros and DC Entertainment, who are partnering with the U.N. and UNICEF for a year-long empowerment campaign.
