Discover Yourself While Rebounding from a Betrayed Relationship

If you’ve ever been in a tough relationship that ended with a bit of betrayal, that’s never an easy situation to deal with. So what is the best thing that you can do to help your heart heal?

FOX’s Ashley Papa has this week’s “FOX on Love”:

The emotional pain from betrayal can feel like a knife going through our breaking heart.

Relationship expert, Dr. Sheri Meyers, says when betrayed, we can let ourselves get stuck in the bad moment forever, or work to put it behind us for good:

(Dr. Meyers) “The amount of happiness you feel depends on the amount of freedom you have in your heart and if you’re caught up in blame you’re only hurting yourself because blame keeps you in misery and keeps you from being happy.”

Meyers says one silver lining of betrayal is that it can give us a great opportunity to learn more about ourselves:

(Dr. Meyers) “It’s a way to say what do I really want in my life? What’s important to me? Who am I now that this has happened? What are my needs both in a relationship, but also in a relationship with myself.”

After being betrayed by a loved one, surround yourself with family and friends and realize how much love you really do have around you.
