Samsung Offers Special Box to Send Back Galaxy Note 7

Special packaging is being used to return Samsung’s fire-prone smartphones.

FOX’s Tonya J. Powers has details:

Usually you get a box when you buy your smartphone, but Samsung Galaxy Note 7 owners are getting one to send it back in.

And it’s not just any box, it’s fire-resistant packaging, complete with prepaid shipping. The boxes are being sent to U.S. customers as a precaution against possible fires or explosions of the phones during their return trip to the company.

The phones are prone to overheat and catch fire, so Samsung has recalled all the devices and has also stopped making them.

Samsung says the packaging meets U.S. regulations required for shipping lithium-ion batteries or devices that contain them.
