Drake rules the American Music Awards.

FOX's Michelle Pollino reports: 

Drake has surpassed the record set by Michael Jackson, earning 13 American Music Awards nominations, shattering Jackson's mark of 11 from 1984.

Rihanna followed with seven nominations, Adele and Justin Bieber tied with five each.

Also in the top tier: Beyoncé and The Chainsmokers with four. Bryson Tiller, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood, Fetty Wap and The Weeknd had three.

For the big one, 'Artist of the Year... Adele, goes up against Beyoncé, Bieber, Drake, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood and The Weeknd.

The award show airs live from Los Angeles on ABC Nov. 20.
