Tiger Woods will return and play golf for the first time in a long time next Thursday.

FOX's Jared Max reports:

417 days precisely, it will be between Tiger's last professional round, August 23, 2015 at the Wyndham Championship and next Thursday's opening round at the seasoning opening Safeway Open in Napa, California.

Recovered from two back surgeries last September and October, Woods who was ranked No. 1 in the world, a record 683 weeks, now is ranked 767th, more than 500 slots down the ranking since he last played on tour.

Now 40-years-old, Tiger's still four major titles shy of Jack Nicklaus' record of 18. Nicklaus won two majors at age 40, before his final big win six years later.
