Doctors Perform First Successful Uterus Transplant in Dallas

The first womb transplants in the United States using live donors have been performed.

    FOX’s Chris Foster reports:

Doctors in Dallas implanted a uterus in four women born without one in operations last month. One woman still has hers so far, with the others removed due to poor blood flow.

The surgeries were performed at Baylor University Medical Center.

There have been at least 16 uterus transplants attempted worldwide, including one in Cleveland from a deceased donor that did not “take.”

Most have been in Sweden, with at least five births recorded and two doctors from there in Dallas to assist on these surgeries.

Baylor is looking for more women to take part.
