X-Box and PS4 mid generation upgrades are on the deck.
Sony recently releasing the specs of their new PS4-Pro and Microsoft responding that their upcoming project Scorpio console will have more horsepower under the hood.
And the mysterious NX console from Nintendo has been subject to rumors that it will be a mix of home and handheld device with Pokémon company's CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara, helping to cement those rumors in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, saying, "The NX is trying to change the concept of what it means to be a home console device or a hand-held device."
The house of Mario notoriously tight lipped about the console.
