Charlotte Riots Continue after Shooting of a Black Man

A city in North Carolina is on edge after a police officer shot a black man.

FOX’s Eben Brown reports:

The controversy over whether or not Keith Lamont Scott was holding a book or a gun in his hands when a police officer stopped stopped him has been at the center of discussions and even riots in Charlotte.

Police Chief Kerr Putney says they have the gun in their possession now:

(Officer Putney) “We did find a weapon and the weapon was there and the witness’ corroborated it to beyond just the officers.”

Putney adds the officer who shot Scott was not wearing a body cam. Other officers who came to the scene were, but that video will not be made public right away, as the investigation continues.
