The Taxman Dodgeth: IRS Commish Avoids Impeachment… For Now

House Republicans have agreed to put off a vote on impeaching IRS Commissioner John Koskinen.

FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:

The ultra-conservative House Freedom Caucus wanted an impeachment vote today, but conceded to a deal that would delay the move, with the IRS boss expected to testify before the Judiciary committee next week.

Koskinen has been under fire for the IRS targeting certain conservative groups that were seeking tax exempt status, and some Republicans claim he obstructed their investigation into the scandal. Koskinen and Democrats say he did nothing wrong.

An impeachment vote, if it happens, will likely now take place after the presidential election.
