The Asian leader who insulted President Obama gets a meeting with him after all.
FOX's Jon Decker has more from Washington:
Philippine officials say their president, Rodrigo Duterte, has met informally with President Obama in a holding room before attending a gala dinner at a regional summit in Laos.
The brief meeting took place a little over 24 hours after President Obama cancelled a formal meeting between the two leaders that had been scheduled for Tuesday.
Duterto verbally insulted the President during a rant with reporters, leading the White House to cancel their one-on-one meeting.
The Philippino Foreign Minister said the informal meeting between the two leaders shows that "the relationship between the two allies is strong."
