President Obama Cancels Meeting with Philippine President
President Obama continues his historic trip, making a stop in Laos.
FOX’s Alastair Wanklyn reports:
The White House saying relations with the Philippines remain strong despite an unprovoked, foul-mouthed rant by the Philippine leader against President Obama.
He canceled talks with President Rodrigo Duterte, but a U.S. official saying the leaders may meet this week informally.
Meanwhile, President Obama saying of North Korea’s missile launches Monday:
(President Obama) “North Korea needs to know that provocations will only invite more pressure and further deepen its isolation.”
But he said the door is open to talks if Pyongyang takes steps toward denuclearisation.
