Sentencing in Boiling Water Attack of Gay Couple
A Georgia man is facing a long prison term for throwing boiling water on a sleeping gay couple.
FOX’s Joe Chiaro reports:
A Fulton County judge sentenced 48-year-old Martin Blackwell to 40-years in prison. He was guilty of eight counts of aggravated battery and two counts of aggravated assault in the February attack.
Blackwell was staying with his girlfriend at an apartment when he found her son and the son’s boyfriend asleep. The prosecutor says Blackwell’s actions were well thought out. He selected the biggest pot in the house, filled it with water and waited for it to boil.
Both men suffered severe burns that required multiple surgeries and skin grafts.
