Expect Another Budget Battle in Congress
The White House is predicting a battle royal in Congress over some crucial budgeting.
FOX’s Jill Nado has that story from Washington:
Capitol Hill lawmakers headed for the exits earlier this month, gavelling out before coming up with a stopgap funding bill to fund the government and to come up with a spending plan to fight the Zika virus.
When lawmakers return from their vacation after Labor Day, White House spokesman Josh Earnest says he expects more stalemates:
(Earnest) “I suspect it’s going to be a dysfunction battle if the first eight months of this year are any indication.”
Republicans have been saying they have gotten some work done, like helping Puerto Rico through its fiscal crisis, and passing a bipartisan measure to combat opioids.
