Mexican President Vows to Respect Election Process
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s had plenty to say about Mexico, but Mexico’s president doesn’t want to talk much about American politics.
FOX’s Jill Nado has that story from Washington:
Donald Trump has said Mexico is sending criminals into the U.S., while Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto has said Trump speaks the type of language that gave rise to Adolf Hitler.
But during a White House visit Pena Nieto says his comments about Trump were taken out of context, and he’s ready to work with whomever gets elected:
(Nieto) “For this process we will be absolutely respectful, we will not get involved.”
The Mexican president and President Obama went on to say that they’ve been working together to help fight drug trafficking between the two countries to get civilian nuclear technology to Mexico and to increase the number of exchange students in both countries.
