A TV and movie legend has died.

FOX's Rich Denison reports:

He was the force behind some of the most iconic TV shows and movies of our time:

(Happy Days) "Sunday, Monday... Happy Days..."

Writer and director Garry Marshall has died. Marshall created "Happy Days", along with "Laverne & Shirley", which starred his sister Penny Marshall as Laverne...

"Mork and Mindy" was also a Garry Marshall creation.

He saw box office success directing "Pretty Woman" and "Runaway Bride":

(Runaway Bride) "So what happened after he climbed up the tower and rescued her... She rescues him right back."

Marshall's publicist says the 81-year-old died of complications from pneumonia following a stroke.
