Melania Trump’s Speech Writer Apologizes, Resignation Rejected

A Trump staffer is apologizing for the Melania Trump speech mess and has tried to resign.

FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Cleveland:

There was no “you’re fired” from Donald Trump this time. Trump Organization speech writer Meredith McIver says he rejected her resignation, saying everyone makes mistakes and we learn and grow from those experiences.

She apologized for not checking Michelle Obama’s 2008 convention address before including the phrases that Mrs. Trump suggested in the speech. Earlier in the week, the Trump campaign said they wanted to present a human, compassionate side of the candidate at this convention.
