Terrorist Suspect Sentenced

A Virginia man has been sentenced for attempting to join our terrorist enemies overseas.

    FOX’s Dave Anthony reports:

The trip Joseph Farrokh tried to take to the middle east got him sent to federal prison. A judge gave the Virginia man eight and a half years. Prosecutors had sought a 16 year sentence.

Farrokh apologized in court during Friday’s hearing, and denounced ISIS. The 29 year old pleaded guilty to terror charges. After being arrested in January at the Richmond Airport, thinking he was going to travel to join up with Islamic State fighters.

Instead Farrokh was caught up in a government sting operation, after the Pennsylvania native had quickly become radicalized.
