Homeless Teen Receives Police Support
A homeless teen setting out to register for college classes receives a lesson about kindness.
FOX’s Lilian Woo reports:
Nineteen year old Fred Barley was found by police officers on the Gordon State College campus in Georgia last weekend.
He pitched a tent after bicycling for more than 50 miles in order to register for his second semester of classes, but didn’t have a dorm to stay in yet. Instead of ticketing him, the officers put him up in a motel room. The wife of one officer posting about him on Facebook, and help began pouring in.
The bio major, who hopes to go to med school one day, receiving donations of clothes, school supplies, shoes, and even a job offer at a local pizza shop.
One person setting up a Go Fund Me page for him, which has pulled in tens of thousands for
Barley, who says is he shocked and grateful.
