The Fence Was Always Part of the Plan
Republicans in Cleveland have spent the past couple of days writing the party’s platform.
FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports:
A draft of the Republican platform is ready to be rolled out to party delegates…and it includes Donald Trump’s plan to build a wall along the Mexican border. Republican National Committee chair Reince Priebus says the proposal is really nothing new for the GOP.
(Priebus) “The idea of a border fence has been in our platform for many many years and just changing the word from fence to wall is what they did”
The platform contains language that the wall cover “the entirety of the Southern Border and must be sufficient to stop both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.” The full convention’s two-thousand-72 delegates will vote on the platform next week.
