New Possibility for the Democrats
Democrats’ hopes of retaking the U.S. Senate could be improving after a former Indiana Senator decides to get his old job back.
FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Washington:
Former Democratic Senator Evan Bayh is making another run for his Senate seat. A move that is expected to dramatically improve the Democrats’ chances of winning the open race.
Bayh retired from the Senate in 2010 after two terms, but still has about 10 million dollars in left-over campaign funds.
Republican Senator Dan Coats is retiring after this term making the seat a closely-watched contest, and one of several that could tip the balance of control of the chamber.
Former Congressman Baron Hill won the Democratic nomination, but was not considered a strong candidate against Republican Congressman Todd Young.
