TV Flub Causing Fireworks Online

Sparks flying on social media over fake fireworks.

    FOX’S Carley Shimkus explains:

PBS in hot water after including stock footage in its live broadcast of Washington D.C.’s fireworks display.

D.C.’s weather was cloudy last night so the show included video of fireworks from previous years. Folks on social media were quick to call foul.

One person tweeting, “Not cool PBS, fake footage of fireworks on the fourth. It’s cloudy and rainy in D.C.. Those shots are clearly not from tonight.”

The show wound up acknowledging the flub in a tweet, saying, “we showed a combination of the best fireworks from this year and previous years. It was the patriotic thing to do.”
