Chestnut Regains Hot Dog Title
Joey Chestnut regained his hot dog eating championship Monday afternoon at Coney Island in NYC. Chestnut downed a record-setting 70 Nathan’s Famous dogs in 10 minutes, topping his previous record set back in 2013 of 69 hot dogs.
Last year’s champ, Matt Stonie, was no match for Chestnut this time. Stonie finished with 53 hot dogs devoured.
Miki Sudo ate 38.5 hot dogs earlier in the day, beating Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas, who had 35 finished, to defend her Mustard Yellow International Belt.
