Scotty Moore, an original member of Elvis' band has passed away.

One of the King's men is gone, Scotty Moore, Elvis Presley's first guitarist had died. Moore played on 'Hound Dog' and other early Elvis hits. James L. Dickerson, Moore's biographer and friend, saying Moore passed away Tuesday morning in his Nashville home.

He was a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the last survivor of a combo, including Presley, bassist Bill Black and producer Sam Phillips. Sun Records producer Sam Phillips paired Presley with Moore and Black in 1954.

Moore, the pioneering rock guitarist inspired a generation of musicians, including Keith Richards, Jimmy Paige and Bruce Springsteen. He was 84.
