A legendary piece of science fiction is once again available for public viewing.
FOX's Rich Denison explains:
The Starship Enterprise is boldly going to the main floor of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum:
(Star Trek) "Space, the final frontier."
The 11-foot long model used during filming of the original 'Star Trek' TV series from 1966 to 1969 has been restored. The model was donated to the Smithsonian by Paramount Studios in 1974. The refurbished NCC-1701 includes spinning warp drive nacelles, lights and strobes...
It's placement in the main atrium comes as the Air and Space Museum celebrates its 40th anniversary on July 1.
