Former Republican Presidential Candidate Running for Senate… Again

Florida Senator Marco Rubio is now making a late entry into the 2016 Senate race, following his failed bid for the U.S. Presidency.

FOX’s Eben Brown reports from Miami:

When Marco Rubio’s campaign for the Republican Presidential nomination ended with a poor showing at the Florida primary, he had told supporters he planned to enter a private life and work in the private sector.

He had not filed to run to keep his Senate seat, but rumors began circulating he might, following the Orlando terror attack:

(Rubio) ”I take very seriously everything that’s going on, not just in Orlando, but in our country. I’ve enjoyed my service here a lot.”

The decision to run again likely came after consultation with other Republicans, prominent in Florida, who had already announced their Senate candidacy.
