Tragic Death of National Guard Soldier Sparks Investigation

    An investigation is underway into the death of an Arkansas National Guard soldier after a training accident at Fort Chaffee.

    FOX’s Jeff Monosso reports:

    The Arkansas National Guard identifies the soldier killed during an apparent training accident. As 33-year-old specialist Sylvester Cline, was assigned to the Guard’s Company A 39th Brigade Support Battalion, 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team.

    We’re told the cause of Cline’s death is under investigation, but that it wasn’t the result of a weapon or a vehicle accident. The Arkansas National Guard releasing a statement saying, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones of specialist Cline, and we will remember him as a defender of freedom.”
