China Threatens to Stop Cooperation with U.S.

The President meets with the Dalai Lama in the Oval Office.

FOX’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:

China denounced the Oval Office meeting between the President and the Dalai Lama with a Chinese foreign ministry spokesman saying that it will hurt US-China mutual trust and cooperation.

The President has previously described the Dalai Lama as a “good friend”.

The Buddhist leader has pushed for more Tibetan autonomy while China accuses him of encouraging outright independence.

The Dalai Lama fled from Tibet into exile in India in 1959 after a failed uprising against Chinese rule.
